The “Breast Centre Carinthia” was founded in February 2009 with the integration of the hospital of the Brothers Hospitallers with the established specialists in order to offer the women concerned the best service possible.

The individual therapy of every patient is centrally discussed by a team of equally competent specialists, and then the women are treated regionally by the doctors they choose.

In June 2010 the “Breast Centre Carinthia” was certified by the international agency DOC-CERT and the Austrian company for surgery according to EUSOMA und ÖBIG criteria.

The team provides advice and instructions, and offers its experience in pain therapy, symptom control, palliative care and psychosocial assistance. The consultation of the palliative team can be utilised by the patient itself or the relatives. After a discussion with the care people a targeted involvement will be realised in the care process and the assistance.
